Organizers and exhibitors satisfied with the WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS 2015

After the conclusion of the trade fair, exhibitors and trade visitors delivered a positive summary of the WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS. Around 3,000 visitors exchanged ideas and attended 165 presentations on future-focused technologies. Stuttgart hosted companies, research institutes, delegations, exhibitors and visitors from a total of 30 countries.
The mood was positive in the hydrogen and fuel cell technology sectors. Exhibitors reported growing interest and many specific inquiries, for instance on the mass production of fuel cell systems and components. Exhibitors showed many highlights ranging from material research to the introduction of new products, the e-mobility section revolved around commercial vehicles and buses. The Netherlands presented STORM Pulse, the world's first long-distance e-motorbike, while DLR's announcement to develop a fuel cell-powered passenger aircraft, which will be based in Stuttgart, was followed with attention. The entire value creation chain of battery production was represented as well. Forthcoming infrastructure plans in Germany, the Netherlands and the USA constituted the focus of attention for the e-mobility community. As Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, CEO Messe Stuttgart summed up: “The WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS covers the key future-focused technologies around today. The positive mood in the halls and the innovations displayed underscore the integrative impact of the event for the battery production, fuel cell and e-mobility sectors.”
“Battery production is a fascinating subject and the trade fair and conference have attracted a lot of attention. The resource road map for battery production was in high demand at our booth and the positive business climate was warmly received. The German battery manufacturers are very successful on the export market and also anticipate stronger demand from Europe in the medium term – both a challenge and opportunity for the industry and the BATTERY+STORAGE. It is a great incentive for us”, comments Dr. Eric Maiser, Director, VDMA Battery Production, Frankfurt.
This year's partner country, the Netherlands and especially the province of North Brabant, which took the lead for the Dutch participation in the WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS, were convinced by the trade fair and conference. “Brabant and Baden-Württemberg can team up to upgrade our quality of live. That is what sustainability and clean technologies are about. The WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS is a fantastic network event where entrepreneurs come together to share their views on sustainability. It was a stimulating experience with productive discussions at a high level, for instance with Baden-Wuerttemberg's Minister of Environment Franz Untersteller. We foresee huge economic potential for the cooperation in the upcoming years", commented Vice Governor Bert Pauli, North-Brabant, 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
Attractive side program: learning and doing
Energy consultants, representatives from communities and municipal operations, tradesmen and teachers took advantage of the attractive range of training sessions in a series of workshops. Participants particularly emphasized the balanced mix of practical recommendations and references to the wider context of the energy turnaround. Enthusiasm for e-vehicles was fanned at the Ride & Drive. Among the most popular of around 600 test drives were the FUSO Canter e-truck, Audi A3-etron and Toyota Mirai. Trade fair visitors and conference participants were also able to test their Segway skills in a circuit. The Ziesel, a one-seater track e-vehicle impressed everyone with its off-road abilities in the circuit terrain.

Since 2012 the BATTERY+STORAGE, e-mobility solutions and f-cell have been drawing together potentials and networks at the WORLD OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS.
